Dear Parents,

I would like to share with you some of the things we will focus on this school year so that you may help with encouragement and support from home.

In our class, we will work very hard to complete the first grade curriculum while meeting the Georgia Performance Standards (GPS).  Your child will have instruction in the following areas: reading, language arts, spelling, mathematics, science, and social studies.

     I hope that this guide helps you to understand more about your child’s day in school and helps you to see how and where you can be of assistance.
